Application of Fractals
APPLICATION OF FRACTALS TO MATERIALS SCIENCE Introduction The term “Fractals” refers to the mathematical concept of how vastly different objects can be described using the same mathematical relationships. For example, the coastline of a continent viewed from space will have readily visible distinct attributes such as bays, peninsulas, and relatively straight sections. If we now observe a coastl...
متن کاملPolyadic Cantor Fractals: Characterization, Generation, and Application as Ultrasonic Lenses
The term fractal was coined in 1975 by Benoit Mandelbrot. Since then, fractal structures have been widely used by the international scientific community. Its range of applications includes multiple areas, such as optics, physics, cryptography, medicine, economics, and so on. The application of fractal structures to modulate light beams in the field of optics has been extensively studied, and it...

Selfsimilar Fractals and Selfsimilar Random Fractals
We survey the application of contraction mapping argments to selfsimilar (nonrandom) fractal sets, measures and functions. We review the results for selfsimilar random fractal sets and measures and show how the method and extensions also work for selfsimilar random fractal functions.
متن کاملSelf-similar fractals and arithmetic dynamics
The concept of self-similarity on subsets of algebraic varieties is defined by considering algebraic endomorphisms of the variety as `similarity' maps. Self-similar fractals are subsets of algebraic varieties which can be written as a finite and disjoint union of `similar' copies. Fractals provide a framework in which, one can unite some results and conjectures in Diophantine g...
